no more Degree Shows please...
The time of year is upon us again, except this year im not part of it, one year on from my own degree show, it feels wierd to be goin round others, and it seems so long ago. On Tuesday i was in Leicester for the DMU Degree show, it was pretty heavy going. Massive office like building with loads of different courses like Constructed Textiles, Footware Design all alongside Fine Art, all showing at once. It was impossible to even nearly look round all the shows in one afternoon, i even found it difficult to properly look round the Fine Art, which made me think about the purpose of the degree show and the problems that such a format brings about for both student (who may not get a fair viewing) and viewer (who cant possibly take in all the work on show properly)
Anyway there was some great stuff and some really awful stuff in the Fine Art show, it made me realise that all Degree Shows are the same really, here are some pics of the show anyway, i was left feeling relieved that i havent got to do the whole thing again (until i do an MA that is argh!)
